Italy's Olympic Committee chief Giovanni Malago has stirred controversy by claiming that simulation is a bigger problem in Italian football than racism.
Series A has been under global scrutiny on the issue of racism plagued recently, with no fewer than four incidents already this season.
However, Malago - who heads the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) - believes the simulation is "even more wrong" than the ape calls.
"Fans who insult black players are wrong," Malago initially told Radio24.
"However, it is even more wrong when someone who wins three million euros simulates in the box and is also happy to win a penalty," he concluded.
Last night (Tuesday), Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic was called a "gypsy" by Brescia fans.
